Method 1 uses an XWiki syntax 2.0 include

some white spaces here

This works but the include up there will include the content of the macro file so generate a lot of white spaces and it will try (i think) converting the macro file to syntax 2.0 which generates a risk of breaking the macros if they are complex and include JS
